SOUTHERN ITALY AND SICILY
From Rome to Amalfi, Sorrento and Sicily along the stunning Mediterranean
coast, cruising back from Palermo by ferry
The Southern Italy tour begins and ends in Rome. Our tour starts with a
drive down the Almalfi coast on a scenic coastal road with stunning
views of the sea. We will stop in Ercolano, a town at the foot of
Vesuvius, which was perfectly preserved by the volcanic eruption two
thousand years ago. After dinner, you will taste “Limoncello,” the local
lemon flavored liquor (there is plenty of room in the van for the
bottles we are sure you will buy). Our tour will travel south along the
beautiful coast and then inland and eventually crossing the Strait of
Messina to Sicily by ferry. The tour continues across Sicily where we
will discover the flavors and charm of the island. From Palermo, Sicily’s
main city, a night cruise will take us back to Rome. We will spend our
last day of the tour seeing the sights of Rome with a local guide.
